Problems
- Hydrocarbons
- Gasoline & Diesel
- Initial Levels ± 6,000ppm (Criteria = 1,000 ppm)
Project Summary
The impacted soil was contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons originating from underground storage tank leakage. Due to the large volume of soils present on-site, the material was transported to a Sanitary Landfill for treatment and subsequent use as daily cover. There was a total of approximately 3,600 m3 to be treated. The scope of work was to initiate treatment of the soil by way of bioremediation using windrows.
Results and Advantages
- Achieved successful remediation (Levels ranging from 186 ppm to 410 ppm) within 51 days and provided a useful end product for the Sanitary Landfill.
Duration and Cost
- Project completed in
51 days.
- Project Cost:
