Problems
- Hydrocarbons
- C6 - C10 ± 1260 ppm
(Criteria = 260 ppm)
- C10 - C16 ± 1700 ppm
(Criteria = 900 ppm)
- Ethyl-Benzene ± 6.46 ppm
(Criteria = 0.19 ppm)
Project Summary
The impacted soil was contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons. The targeted remediation goals were the Alberta Tier 1 hydrocarbon guidelines for fine-grained surface soil using a natural area land-use. On-site, there was a total of approximately 5,842 m3 to be treated. The scope of work was to process material by means of our dual-drive Allu bucket attachment.
Results and Advantages
- Achieved successful remediation of Ethyl-Benzene, F1 (C6 - C10) and F2 (C10 - C16) petroleum hydrocarbons (results were <0.10 ppm, 87 ppm and 332 ppm respectively).
Duration and Cost
- Project completed in 2 months (4 months ahead of schedule).
- Project Cost:
± $124,000.00 (on budget)
